According to Amazon.de, Clint Eastwood’s newest movie, Gran Torino, will be getting a German SteelBook release (July 10th 2009). An innovation to counter the new German FSK laws that force companies to print the rating on the cover (which, as you can see, ruins the artwork) is to print said rating on a slipcover in which you put a logoless SteelBook.

Thank goodness someone in the marketing department decided to put that massive – and unattractive – rating logo on a slipcase instead of putting it directly on the steelbook case. This is yet another in a series of recently announced forthcoming steelbooks that I consider to be a MUST HAVE for every steelbook collector. I hope to order a copy soon.
