My brother got me a couple of things off iNetVideo for my birthday, a Canadian online retailer.

Blade Runner (Limited Edition Gift Set) [HD-DVD]
From Dusk Till Dawn / Air Force One

The last movie I asked for as it cost something like US$3 or something, so I thought I might as well.

The Blade Runner set is amazingly beautiful and a great bargain ($25), even though, I know, it’s a HD-DVD set. But I reckon the transfer’s just as good, and with 5 different cuts of the movie along with a Dolby TrueHD track on the Final Cut, I won’t be complaining!

Amazon.de Extravaganza

Today I finally received the two new Amazon.de Exclusive SteelBooks I’d been waiting for. The picture doesn’t show much as they were still sealed when I took the pic, but I promise you they look sexy once they were stripped down. I’ll add some scans as soon as possible. Meanwhile:

Battlefield: Bad Company (Gold Edition) – PlayStation 3

Just to inaugurate this new Games section, I thought I’d post a picture of my latest addition in the PS3 SteelBook collection, Battlefield: Bad Company (Gold Edition). One of the coolest looking SteelBooks I’ve ever seen. It’s embossed on the cover and the picture does not do justice to its goldness.

Should be getting a couple of other PS3 Steels soon, so I’ll post about those on due time. For now:

The Gladiator SteelBook gets a second cover / MediaMarkt reprints?

Now the question is whether this only applies to the Play.com version that comes with Artcards or if this is the new cover or just an alternative.

Jojo brought to my attention that Amazon.de had posted some placeholders for some Blu-ray SteelBooks which had already been released by MediaMarkt as Exclusives, such as 300, The Golden Compass and Harry Potter and the Globet of Fire. All set to be released on September 1st. I’ll keep you updated.

Just wanted to let you know I’d added a Games SteelBooks section as I’m expecting it to grow these next few weeks. ^^

In other news, it seems that there will be a Play.com Exclusive of the newest Star Trek movie. I’ll update the page with a release date as soon as I have one. It’ll come with a Digital Copy of the movie.

EDIT: That didn’t take long. The movie is set to be released on November 2nd for £17.99.

With no set release date, Play.com have announced a new exclusive to their Blu-ray SteelBook lineup with the latest Terminator movie in the saga: Terminator Salvation. Pre-order: Terminator Salvation (Terminator 4) (Exclusive Play.com Steelbook) (Blu-ray).

Underworld Trilogy German SteelBook [Confirmed]

Thanks to jojo for pointing it out that the forthcoming German release of the Underworld Trilogy might well be a slipcased SteelBook collection. It’s due for an August 20th release, check it out and make your own mind of it:
