Guillermo del Toro is in the house

Received this boxset from a seller off eBay today. The envelope it came in was shabby and with 0,23€, out of the 4€ I gave him, used, it makes me wonder where the other 3,77 went?
Anyway, I cannot wait to watch these movies, they look so freaking awesome and I’m a huge fan of del Toro’s work. I have Pan’s Labyrinth on BD already (German SteelBook) but it lacked subtitles or audios tracks I understand, so now I’m blessed with a Spanish DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track on each movie along with French subs.
El Laberinto de Fauno and El Orfanato, here I come!

Del Toro Boxset

Pans Labyrinth is one of the best films I have ever seen. The story is filled with tense drama juxtaposed with a unique fantasy world. The main character, Ophelia, is captivating and one simply cannot get enough of her in this movie. One aspect of Pans Labyrinth that I find especially appealing is the soundtrack music. It sweeps the viewer into the film and never lets go. I actually shed tears towards the end of the movie. It is simply brilliant.

The Orphanage is yet another brilliant movie from Spain. Very different from Pans, it is more of a thriller / horror experience. Once again we are presented with intense drama. I found myself completely immersed in the story. It builds and builds as it rips emotions from the viewer. I actually felt a deep pit in my stomach as the story unfolds. It is quite a roller coaster ride that is extremely disturbing.

I recommend that both Pans Labyrinth and The Orphanage only be watched at night — and in a very dark room (turn off all of the lights). Turn up the volume on the surround sound and make sure that the subwoofer is plugged in and ready to rumble. You just might feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
